Any chance of 800 math with 1 wrong?

Pray my friend. Math curves are lethal.

I kinda screwed up Lit. -2 on questions and -1 on vocab (stupid blowhards)

With a good curve I think its high 700s.

I got 1 wrong both times and got 780 both times.

If you get 1 wrong and 800 I hate you :)

please guess my score

math(5 blank,90-95% sure all other questions are right)
reading, didn't have time to finish!(around 10-15 blank,70% sure most of the rest of the questions are right

math = 690 if all other questions are right

CR = in the 500's.

For math, what would one wrong on the multiple choice and one wrong on the fill-ins be? My guess is 760 pre-curve. Anybody else with a prediction?

^ yeah that sounds about right. maybe a 750.

Eh, that's pre-curve, right? You think I have a shot at a 770? Hell, even 780?

I think one OMIT, yes--it would be possible.

No, I had one wrong in fill-in (basically same thing as omit) and one wrong multiple choice... I just want a 760 or higher. 770 would be awesome, 780 would be perfect.

-2 = 780 = never.

But a 770 is definitely possible you think?

yes, it has happened before.

got a 770 math back in june with -2, so yes that can happen

buuuut remember: It all depends on the people who took this december test...so the curve will only benefit you if people did very poorly as a whole

wrong, the curve is preset

it's done that way PRECISELY to prevent the overall skill of your fellow test takers from affecting your score

^ the curve is predetermined. it doesn't matter how people actually do on the exam.

So the curve can do nothing but bring your score up then? Because my friend only missed 2 in math a few months ago and got a 720.

I don't think it's predetermined... or else the curve wouldn't change
and -1 wouldn't be 800 on some and 740 on others...

It varies from test to test.

a -1 would NEVER go down to 740. that's just insane.

it is predetermined because the test difficulty/score must be comparable to all the other CB tests. If one gets 770 on Math one day, one should be able to get a 750-800 the next day without any extra knowledge.
