Opinions+suggestions?

Thanks!

Would I have a any chance with regular decision or should I apply early decision?

hmm. Did you get Ds both semesters? and what are you interested in/planning on majoring in?? i assume some sort of science since you took chem SAT IIs?

It was a D for the year… our school runs on the trimester system and two of them were D’s… Was interested in majoring in Physics or Bio. What do you think of my chances at ED approximately percentage wise (In your opinion)

A D hurts a lot. However, asking to put a percentage chance on admission is like asking to predict the weather a year from now. There are so many variables that go in admissions that no one thing will make or break you. No college wants to see low grades, unless you have significant extenuating circumstances.

You can’t change your grade in the course, so just continue to do well and apply early decision if you feel you need the boost and you are sure about Hopkins.

Eh thanks for taking the time to post was just expecting opinionated percentages for ED and reg. Not super accurate percentages. Really want to go to Hopkins!

Do you have any extenuating circumstances? When i was in high school, I had one semester where I was ill, and had abysmal grades that semester. They promptly rebounded the next semester and remained high for the rest of high school. JHU understood that I was ill and there was nothing I could do about it. If you have something like that, you might have a shot.

Well my mother lost her job and I was on my own for most of the time, would that be a reasonable explanation for the additional things I had to do? There were other problems as well but that probably was the biggest… Anyone else have a chance for me?

I don’t know if “being alone” counts as an extenuating circumstance, I was more thinking like illness/major family problems/tragedies/etc. You will have to apply and cross your fingers.
