Hi to everyone, I am new to this forum. I am italian and I'd like to apply to a Poli Sci PhD program in US universities for the 2011 admissions. I'm just wondering if I have some chances. I have a BA in Political Science (with a concentration in International Relations) with a GPA of 3.5 more or less and a Msc in Political Science with a GPA of 3.8 with a research masters thesis on Comparative Politics (differences and analogies between Italian and US democratic system), I graduated with a final dissertion. As experience I have done the model NMUN (at United Nations) but apart from some project with my professors I don't have any publications. In these days I will also take the GRE and hoping in a good result, I already have three good letters of recommendation.

I have heard of people who didn't get in anywhere and they were really qualified, that's sort of bugging me, please can anybody tell me if I have some chances to get into some good (top 20) phd program?

Hi,
I just registered with the same question and also opened a thread. Judging from what I’ve read so far on this forum, other websites, as well as the universities’ admission websites, your chances seem to be quite good of getting into some top 20 program. On which area would you like to focus?

Hi I’m mostly interested in Comparative Politics, International Relations and Methodology. What about you? what do you think are the universities which I should apply to?

Please can anyone tell me if I can start going through all the process. I’d like to know If I have at least one chance, or If it is really useless for me starting to take GRE and Toefl and write SOP…

I’d be most interest in American Politics and International Relations, especially American Politics. Wish I could help you regarding your university choices, but unfortunately I’m in the same boat as you and looking for some advice on that as well…

I know we are on the same boat… from Europe it can be very difficult to find someone to ask for help or suggestions. I think we just have to try to know better…I would really like an opinion from someone who knows this process, so to help us out. That’s because I’m studying hard for the GRE and I’d like to know where to apply (knowing that I have at least one chance)…any help on this matter would be really apprecciated.
Albundy let me know what schools you will apply to…
