~oh yeah and i babysit over the summers 3 days a week for the past few years.

***plan to volunteer at a soup kitchen and hospital all summer

I know that my SATs aren’t stellar but my essays will be really great, and im getting a really personal, great rec from my English teacher that should be pretty compelling. i will retake the SATs in october and im expecting math to go up significantly, and i should have around a 2250 with that improvement and a better essay on writing ( i froze up last time). and im thinking maybe girl scouts can be a hook? there aren't that many people who have done it for that many years, and i have been really involved in it, so maybe that will count for something.

im thinking of applying to:

brown (maybe PLME) (ed?)
dartmouth (ed?)
johns hopkins
university of rochester (safe match)
bu (safe match)
georgetown
washington university in st louis

and perhaps, if my SATs are over 2250 after i retake them (and they should be) :
HYP and Duke. im realistic, and i know i have no shot as of right now, but im hoping i might have a tiny chance if i raise my scores.

Thanks for any advice! :)

GPA, rank, ecs are excellent. Just the SAT math, but assuming you raise it up:
Gtown-low reach/match
brown ed-low reach
HYP-reach for every one, but you could totally write an awesome essay w/all your ecs and experience
Duke-low reach/match

any other opinions? my top choices are brown, dartmouth, and jhu...do i have a slight shot at these?

bump

beautiful. 5000 hours!!!!! thats so much. only weakness is sats. its impossible to say for sure but you def should apply (cuz you gots a chance)

i know the SATs are weak, but im retaking them and the math should be significantly higher, because 680 was really really low for me. will i have a half decent shot with my sat scores improved to the 2250-ish range?

yea definitely,
make sure that if you're going to retake your sat 2's that you improve significantly, or it won't be worht it at all (750 or higher will prob do it)

i should get 750+ on bio and us (just took ap, pretty sure i got a 5 on both), hoping to crack 700 for chem, but ill have to self-study because i haven't taken the class recently.

anyone else???
