Based on all the information provided, you are going to be deferred.

My child had exactly the same statistics and was deferred, but then admitted regular decision. If you are deferred, don't give up as in my child's case. She is now very active at the school, doing well and loves it there, so let them know more about yourself and why you fit in at Chicago if you do get deferred.

neparent,
Does your child have any extraordinary thing?
Like, a totally unique EC or something.
Because according to what I have heard of the University of Chicago, it is very hard to get admitted with such stats.

chance me.. my GPA's a 3.6, SAT 2060 math 710 writing 690 essay 12 and CR 660.. SAT 2's math2c 770 physics 760 math 1 740..good essays and amazing ec's..

shoukat, if you want chances, I think you need to post your own thread. I don't think it's considered good form to steal someone else's chances thread.

If they have a 3.6, there could be many other factors that make their applicant have an "only" an A- gpa since it's apparently considered low now. they don't want all 4.0's, which is probably why they stress the importance of essays and recommendations. i've heard of many occasions in which someone with stats like that, which are still good, be admitted with great essays and reasons for wanting to be there.

thanks. i got deferred
