Any chance?

Okay, I want to go to Brown, but I’m lacking ECs. Here are some stats.

ACT:
Composite: 34
English: 35
Reading: 36
Math: 32
Science: 31
Writing: 8/12 (This concerns me, will it be an issue?)

I haven’t taken the SAT, but I have a PSAT of 210 which is typically above NMFinalist cutoff for my state.

GPA: 4.0 (For now, haha.)
All courses I will have taken by the time I apply will have been Honors/Gifted excluding one class in my freshman year and electives. I will also be enrolled in AP Western Civilization, AP English, and AP Calculus at the time of application. I may also be taking courses at my local college.

ECs:
2 semesters of Marching Band, 1 semester of Symphonic Band, 1st chair, 1 semester of Wind Symphony, 2nd chair.
Participated in over 35 theatrical productions
Taking Film Literature class
Chess Club
Volunteered at Drama camp for six summers

Do I have a decent shot?

very good stats, you have a real shot.
but of course at top schools even a 36 / 4.0 is not a lock; at those schools legacy, hook, etc are very important, so if you have some hook with Brown that would help.
Brown is very into legacy and unfortunately someone with an ACT 29 or 30 who has legacy probably has a better shot than the act 36 applicant.
my opinion
take the SAT for sure.
don’t worry about the Writing score - it basically does not count for much and I don’t think there is any school that shows the average in writing for accepted students.
caltech and some other top schools don’t even require it.
good luck to you.
