Any chances @ Berkeley?

Hi!

I would be glad if you guys could comment on chances at UCB. It is one of the best schools when it comes to Comp. Science and I think California is really a place to be.

High School: Robert College of Istanbul (it is in fact a high school, but traditionally called a college. extremely well acclaimed in Turkey. last year some 15+ people got into top US colleges [3 Harvards, 2 Princetons, 2 Yales, 1 MIT and some more])

Grades: Freshman year (9th grade) 88%. (Sucked)
Sophomore 90% (Getting better)
Junior 89%
Class Rank: 54/160. School does not send the actual ranking though. It sends information about the grades, like how many kids got what grade. So nothing personal is sent out but it is possible for the schools to decipher where my place is. I know that I'm in the top 33% but I dont know what colleges will actually know.
APs:
Chem 5
Calc AB 5
Computer A 4

SATs:
Math 2C 800
Chem 780
Taking the new SAT in Oct (aiming for 2100s)

TOEFL: 287 out of 300 on the computerized test
(In fact I took it again because that score expired. May get 300 this time, depends on the essay)

ECs:
-Layout editor of a tech magazine published in my school
-Webmaster of the Model United Nations Club Web Site
-Webmaster of the Braille Club Web Site
-Published articles in the aforementioned tech magazine
-Vice President of the Model United Nations Club (attended 8 conferences abroad, 3 in Berlin and 2 in the Hague. Was an ambassador twice. Was a chair for the St.Petersburg conference)
-Played some minor roles way early when I was a prep student.
-Attended a pre college course at UCLA previous summer. Took Physics and Bioterrorism courses (got A+ from both)
-Attended a high school summer college at Stanford. Took CS 106A and Economics course. (got A+ from both)
-Selected of the school team for a contest run by the National Science and Technology Board
-The only student member of the Robert College Web Design Commitee

ps. Obviously i am out of state. i am white, yes. and i do not need financial aid or any kind of scholarship

UC's do a formula, so you'll get into A UC, but probably not Berkeley or LA with those scores and grades. Sorry. Personally, I like the other UC's more anyway

canduruk:

UCB: Slight Reach (Engineering, out of state)

Thanks everyone!

I know my ranking is not that good. I mean two years ago I'd be in 20/160 with that score. So there is just something wrong with my class. The only nice thing is my school does not send rankign

Your SAT stats look good. Since you're out of state, it's a little tough to tell, but I think you'll get in!

Y u takin TOEFL? r u an international student?
if you are, I think Cal is a reach for you

Thanks everyone. I am still studying for the SAT Reasoning test. If I do good on that, I'd be very happy
