In addition, when I apply to 7 year med program on common app website, which decision plan should I choose? Early Decision I? or Regular Decision? If I get rejected from med program, am I reconsidered in regular engineering admission?

I think you have great chances, and would be suprised if you didn't get in.
Thats quite a senior courseload.. lots of APs.. Your math SAT will outweigh the others, so I dont think thats a huge issue..

Early Decision is binding.. it helps your chances, but if you get accepted, you are required to enroll. Its only if RPI is your top choice. If you get a canidates choice application in the mail, that would be non-binding I believe.. thats called "early action".

As far as your second question, I am not sure.. I would call someone associated with the physician scientist program or the admissions office.

I had stats better than yours (sorry! :o) and I didn't get into the program, because I didn't have any medical research experience or anything related to medicine except for life experience....kind of like you do.

the average scores for people accepted into the program is 2130...just so you'd know...

I don't think your chances are great..what I did was I applied to the program, got in through the RPI round and got rejected by AMC...and then RPI gave me quite a lot of money, so I decided to go here despite getting into better schools.

applying ED does not matter for this program since you are really applying to AMC and not to RPI

Hope that helps :D

interesting.

I guess they are considered quite separately!

What the rules about when a student fails to meet the GPA requirement after one semester or after two semesters in a row in the physician scientist program?

you have to apply regular decision as that’s what the instructions say.
You are not necessarily considered for the engineering programs at RPI if you are not accepted to AMC. This is one of those programs that waits to see if you are accepted into AMC first. If you want to be considered for their engineering program you have to contact the admissions office and let them know. D was told to send a mini essay in writing indicating that even if AMC rejected her that she was still interested in RPI.

And for RPI it’s not just medical experience they are looking for. They are looking for research experience - it is called physician/scientist program for that reason.

…to update on the SAT average; it was 2200 for the 2013 entering class.
