Hi, will colleges look down on this schedual? What classes should I make sure I take, I'm not sure what I want to do in college, considering computer sci. or comp. engineering

Honors English

I think taking AP and Honors classes always help anyone in college admissions as it shows course rigor.

That says, it can only help to some extent depending on which college you apply to. All universities love seeing course rigor, but higher ranked or universities with prestige tend to have a more holistic approach in admissions and are alot more selective.

So in short, you should be fine at many colleges you apply to if you keep your grades up, especially math if you want to get into engineering.:)

If you are interested in computer science or engineering, why aren’t you taking any quantitative, analytical courses? I don’t see calculus, physics, etc.

i guess honors English doesn’t teach spelling nowadays.

you should put in more info than just your course load. GPA? SAT? ACT?
also what college are you aiming for. If you wanna do comp sci at a community college, you’l get in without any restrain.

picked this workload because i want to bring up my gpa, is that wrong? I currently have somewhere around 91-93. Colleges I am interested in are ones such as TCNJ, Rutgers, etc. no ivys or anything. I was considering doing Jersey Stars if i am eligible.Thats another reason im looking to get my gpa higher.

I would also suggest taking a math course next year–especially if you want to do engineering. Also, check to make sure that you have fulfilled all of the foreign language requirements for your prospective colleges; they definitely take those into consideration.

Well, say you’re an adcom for a selective college, this kid’s app comes in saying he wants to get into computer science, and then you noticed he has no rigorous science or math courses to speak of, or any computer classes either. What do you think he would say?

Dude, you’re only taking two academic classes. That’s ridiculous. You should definitely be taking math, maybe even another science, and some form of history/economics. Why don’t you take another year of a language while you’re at it? Haha, I’m sorry, it’s just that you’re taking four arts classes and plan on majoring in science/math. Don’t sacrifice courseload in hopes of getting a higher GPA…
