Any chances? yeah, no...

I kept real quiet on here about applying to UVA because people on other sub-forums for other top schools have drilled me to pieces and gotten pretty nasty because I'm applying to some top schools even though they're most likely pretty good reaches. (low GPA =/ )

You guys think I have any legitimate chance to get accepted? (I submitted the common app/uva supplement on November 26th, and my supporting documents were sent shortly after that.)

Everyone has a legitimate chance of getting accepted, espcecially if he or she writes an essay that is full of that individual’s personality. Remember, college committees select who they want to attend their college based on various criteria.

So, while your gpa may be low, I still think you can get in if you wrote some really good essays.

Honestly, while admissions can be a total crapshoot, your GPA is on the low end, your SAT is on the low end and your rank also places you within the 40-50% area, which is kinda on the lower end of things. And on top of that, you are out-of-state.

It’s going to be hard for you as competition among OOS students is very high. If your essays are amazing, and I mean, amazing, it may make up for some of the shortfalls of your app.

^^ She is right. I’m not going to lie. OOS competition is EXTREMELY high.

^ what a shame. Who knows though? My essays were actually pretty good, IMHO. Good luck to everyone else!!!
