Im studying really hard for next SAT for reading and writing but out of every subject there is in school english is my worst.

I have been on cross country team and Crew. I have a job as an assistant manage. I am in band and i went to Science And Research Awareness Series at Stony Brook in summer 2011. I hope because im Hispanic they wont criticize me on my english. I have taken AP Bio and im taking AP Calc BC and AP Chem as well.

ACT Math: - / -

I think you have a fair chance to be admitted.

Thank you for replying

You definitely have a chance!! I was just accepted through early decision and I had a 84.77 GPA and got a 1200 combined SAT and an 1820/2400. Keep in mind they also take your essay and extracurriculars into consideration so make these points strong on your application. Best of luck!

I retook the sat so i have
Cr-490
Math-730
Wr-490
1220/1710
My first quarter grade was around a 99 weighted average and 92/93 unweighted. so I hope they ask for my first quarter grades

You will def. get in. I got in ED with 84 average and 1190 CR+M

My son got in ED to the engineering college with a 87 UWGPA and 660 Math/640 CR. UB completely ignores the SAT writing section. You can easily use your application essay to bring up your language issues indirectly or as a “challenge overcome”. Being Hispanic will help, not hurt, especially if you’re looking at the math or sciences majors. You definitely need a well thought out and well-written application essay (ask a teacher for help) and a good recommendation letter. Also note that UB looks at the highest CR score and the highest Math score you received even if they were on different test dates.

My teacher has a PhD in linguistics and ancient language, so I had him help me with my essay.
