Hi, I'm a new resident and a high school senior here in US and I'm planning to go to college here. I came here in US as a junior this March and was taking Pre-calculus and Hon.Chemistry ( among other courses ) and had a perfect final score in both at the end of my junior year. Right now I'm taking AP Calc and AP Bio as a senior for science/math. I was just wondering if Chem E would be right for me or not and what colleges should I apply to? I'm not familiar with the colleges here but after talking to some of my classmates Penn State seems to be a nice choice(I'm in Pennsylvania and most students seem to prefer that university).
I'm not sure about my GPA(since transcripts from my previous school didn't have GPA) but I'm pretty sure my unweighted GPA will be at least 3.5 or more.
I had taken the SATs just for fun at the end of my junior year and got 1750 ( 690 in maths ) and I retook them this October. I'm hoping to get 1800 + because I'm pretty sure I've improved my English in these past few months.
So those who have Chem E majors, any advice??

Sounds like you’ll be fine getting into and handling PSU’s ChemE program. If you like math and chem, ChemE could work for you. It’s really a toss up, you won’t know if you like ChemE until you start your first ChemE classes but math is usually a good indicator if you can handle or will like it.

PSU has a decent program too, lots of opportunities for jobs and research.

One more question, what’s up with colleges like Rose-Hulman, Rowan ?? They seemed to be ranked fairly high for chemical engineering but aren’t that selective ?
