Frankly, I think your personality is probably more of a hinderance than your GPA or SAT score.

Burrrn Oooooooh!!!!! Burn!!!!!

At my school you need a 96+ to get an A... A 69 is an F.

As others have said, your GPA is fine: you can most certianly get into a top 20 (or top 10) school with a 3.85. Your SAT scores are a bit low, but you aren't totally out of the running, and you can also apply to schools that don't require SATs (like Bowdoin, I think).

Depends more on your activities outside of school once you hit a certain point. Also, don't be limited just by "top 20." What program are you looking at? I bet there are some really good programs at non-top 20 schools. In engineering, for example, there are schools like U of Illinois, U of Michigan and Purdue that are top 10 in the field, but only in the top 40 or 60 nationally. The same holds true with most other programs.

ahhhahahahahah norcalguy

seriously, you're kidding right?

unpolloloco
Michigan is NOT a 40-60 school!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having been at this forum for a couple months, I am still amazed at the number of people who will go into depression when they get a B. Everybody who joins should read a disclaimer:

1.) There are other schools than HYP......., and even going to your state school is not the end of the world.

2.) You can get into many great schools, and many great scholarships, without having the mathematically impossible 4.2 u/w, 40 ACT, 2500 SAT, and without a Nobel Prize on your resume.

3.) You should not view this forum as representative of the high school population. This forum is about half of the top 25% of students (hyperbole). You might not be as smart of some people here, but you are smarter than 75% (really, closer to 90%) of the high school population.

Hey!!! I guess I'll see you around at the drive thou, eh?
