I kno its now late to apply to colleges. As a matter of fact I have already been selected in my Early Decision college. I m writin to help some of my frens. Got rejected or waitlisted frm most of the colleges. So can u help me find some colleges who have rollin admissions. Any college(liberal arts but private) wud work. The important thing is the college shud accept international students and offer financial aid to them......thats it.

if Germany will do, he could apply to the International University of Bremen, it does offer aid to intels, but since he can apply only in the fourth round (the other deadlines have passed), money is scarce and competition is stiff, but it is worth a shot. www.iu-bremen.de

iub wont work.......any ways thanx maxy.......IUB round IV is only recommended to countries which does not require visa to enter Germany. It taked almost 10 weeks to receive German Student visa and thus not practical applyin IUB now.

plz relpy ppl!!!!! I want to hear at least some replies...........

Now?? mid-april? Other than community colleges. I guess your friend's got to take a gap year or suck his thumb.

Illinois Institute of Technology!!! I think their admissions are open! (rolling)

or colleges with winter admissions p'haps?

I'm pretty sure Butler University is still accepting applications. My friend who is also an international student was in the same predicament. They wrote to tell him they had received his application on Friday.

vdgreat, I knew that there is the visa problem, but I met a girl (with good stats) who applied round 4 from a country which required visa, and she got in, and finally got her visa just a day before her arrival at the University was due! I think it is worth the risk of not getting the visa on time...but you should check with iub to see if they don't mind if you go to classes a week or two late...hope I could help.

UMich is rolling admissions and as far as I'm concerned, UMich is a top notch school, especially when it comes to economics and business.

umich is rolling but they have a deadline.. not sure but i think it is march 1st..

Two things -

1) It is worth it to apply round IV to IUB and risk getting the visa late. I was able to get my visa in 3 weeks (from India, where things are usually sloooow). So you can try to convince the visa official. 10 weeks is an overstatement. One month is usually enough.

2) Even if you get your visa late, you can arrive late on campus. One of my friends from Pakistan arrived more than a month late and he is doing just fine.

and btw, wut if sumone goes to an ok-ok college and plans to transfer to a better place? is there any fat chance of transferring to a gud decent college?

oh.. transfer is really tough.. especially for international students..

if you are an international transfer student many universities won't even offer you finaid, and those that offer are ridiculously competitive. sweta, what is the college you intend to go to (PM me if you want)? You might be underrating your college, just because you take the usnews rankings too literally.

Try applying to Albertson College of Idaho. They are seeking Internationals and giving aid. The priority deadline is gone though for scholarship. Or try Brevard College of MN. Not the best but you are in the last minute man. There is aid too.

I got into Elmira with full scholarship. It was rolling too... I guess.

intl transfer is next to impossible. if you can get in as transfer to a good university, AND with aid, then there's a high chance you would have gotten into Harvard or something during freshman application period itself.

Why the crap is transferrin made difficult to students like us. We can transfer to a better university but our financial aid doesnt get transferred. so bad. But its not fair. What if we dont like our campus. There is always a possibility. We even dint have the campus visits. What information we have is just thru the website n other ppl's viewpoint. I KNO "BEGGARS R NOT CHOSERS". But its not certainly fair.

actually I have already enrolled in a college, got into Mount Holyoke College ED 1. I am asking all this for a fren. I'll be more than happy to spend four beautiful years st holyoke.
