Any colleges with EA and need-based financial aid for Int'l students?

I’ve got a 4.0 GPA. Not taken the SATs… Will be taking the SAT and SAT Subject Tests on Oct 11 and Nov 8 respectively. I’ll certainly be applying to some highly selective schools and I suppose I have a chance of getting in. I’m not from Africa though. Looking at the internet, it sure looks like Africans have a big advantage in US Admission Process. I’m looking for safety schools with assured scholarships which have a good engineering/CS program.

@cauldroncastle - I looked at your posting history and discovered you previously stated you are from Nepal. I suspect this will be to your advantage relative to other international applicants, as there will be relatively few students applying from Nepal, and you sounds like a qualified applicant.

FYI, I checked the Harvard, Princeton, and Yale websites and they have 2, 3, and 3 undergraduates from Nepal, respectively. This means they generally admit one or no students from Nepal each year. It’s important to these schools to show maximum diversity in their freshman class, so why not apply SCEA to one of them? If you are one of the top candidates from your country, and meet their academic requirements (do well on the SAT and SAT subject tests!), you have a good chance, and they will meet your full need.

no, Bidrdad, if you go to the Nepal section of this forum, you will find a LOT of Nepal students posting there. I believe for every one Nepal student post here at CC, there will be 10 times more who are trying applying US schools. If OP go there to compare stats, he will find his scores may be at disadvantage to get a scholarship based on his needs.

@artloversplus‌ yeah, you are right. Indeed, there are a lot of students applying from Nepal. @BldrDad‌ Thanks for the response. I think I will be applying to one of the ivies early. If that doesn’t work out, well, there’s always RD.
