So all of us in Connecticut have a snow day due to the impending storm that is supposed to begin this afternoon. Who else is going to be sitting at home, catatonically thinking about what tomorrow will bring?

Lucky duck.

I'm down in texas and staring down the barrel of a differential equations exam and would love a massive magical snowstorm right about now. On the bright side: only one more final after that.

And as I type this, it starts hailing again. The walk to class is going to be uberfun.

yeah connecticut basiucally all of it...has a snow day today-- and theres not a flurry of snow at all but im happy

Ha yeah, I'm really lucky because I was supposed to have an AP Calculus test this morning that I was going to go in to school at 6:45 to take. So now I'll just have to take it tomorrow, when I will be absolutely incomprehensibly nervous.

i had a single session today. moved my econ test to tomorrow and my calc test to monday. THANK GOD. it's still snowing, so i'm hoping tomorrow is a delayed opening.. that way we can't do anything, but i won't be sitting at home thinking about yale.

I'm on Long Island, and while the snow isn't particularly deep here, the streets are a mess and should freeze up overnight...hey...I can dream, can't I?

Can I just say, from my position here in New Haven, that CT seems to totally not be up to the task of keeping the roads clear, etc? I mean, at least here. It's really pretty lazy of the city I feel, or something. Maybe I am spoiled from being from Boston... but it's way less likely this would this amount of snow cancel school (didn't fall fast enough or heavy enough for plows to have missed it).

Cozmo, you have to remember that Boston is a frigid, icy wasteland compared to Southern New England (CT). The CT shoreline is known as the "Riviera of New England" because it is significantly less snowy and more sunny than the rest of the Northeast. In a recent year, New Haven got about 7 inches of snow while Boston got several feet. Obviously, places like New Haven and New York City that aren't as snowy as say, Burlington, Syracuse, Boston, Rochester, Buffalo, etc., don't need as many plows, and therefore it can take more than a few hours to clear a normal-sized snowfall.

i'm from waltham (10-15 min from boston) and we have no school

but we're pretty much the only boston suburb with no school today :)

Mostly, PostX, I mean a lack of salting. They know that a huge amount of icy rain or snow is coming but don't bother to salt--that's been the case, at least. They have the salt; they put it down later. Just not... before... when it's needed.

And yes, I'm familiar with NE geography, just complaining.
