Any current Millikin University BFA MT or BA Theatre students out there who can shed light?

Looking for information on the hurdles for BFA MT, and how much performing experience and classes you can get/take if you are BA Theatre. Thanks!

Hi! Hurdles are something that upper class men will talk up quite a lot here but they are nothing to worry about! They happen your freshman year. There are three seperate sections you hurdle for which are dancing, singing and acting. You either pass, or get put on probation and have to rehurdle for the area you were put on probation for your next year. You also can get redirect to BA. I also know that sometimes they suggest a vocal performance degree or an acting degree for example. Something they think could better suite you. I just got done with my musical theater hurdle and as long as you show that you are learning and that you have improved since the beginning of they year you are golden! I am not the best dancer ever and I didn’t get put on any probation for dancing because I showed improvement. BAs can and do get cast in shows, but it is a tricky thing to be a BA. I have heard of people loving it because it isn’t as strict as a BFA is and I have heard of people not liking it because many classes give BFAs priority before BAs can register for them so they aren’t able to take them. I personally think it is all about how you make the best of it. If you are always putting in an effort, chances are you will get a much better experience with getting cast and getting into classes.
