Curious to see if students from my CC are here.

yup. can't wait til i never again have to set foot on that dump.

whats your major pinkerfloyd? Who knows, we may even know each other.

Close by at Valley, you think Pierce is a dump? I've hear that it's really nice- compared to here..You should see Valley right now in the middle of tearing down ancient buildings and all the lovely asbestos floating in the air. Hopefully it will look good after!

it's not so much the aesthetics that are so discouraging. i just don't like the place.

my major is Philosophy.
i'm only taking a logic class and an astro lab this semester.

When it came to choosing the Junior College I was going to attend it wasnt even a contest. I chose Moorpark over Pierce in a heart beat. Moorpark is a nicer looking campus and is better academically. Pierce is a piece of crap school, no offense to all who go there.

none taken.
not to mention the women at moorpark. i'd have gone there, too, but it wasn't practical, and i'm a practical kind of rough chick.

for once I have to agree with you, pinker. Pierce is an alright school. It looks 23342343 times better than it did before though.

Johnathan, you should have taken Chemistry 212 with me this fall. You need to start working on your roadmap and practicing retrosynthetic problems regardless.

whoa, man.
whoaaaaaa, maannnn...
you can't just go and break the pseudonym identity thing like that.. .
it makes things way too...

real.

Retros were too much for me Dr. Ono. I can only go back 4-5 steps, any more would be using up to many of my brain cells.

do any of you actually socialize with other pierce students? I just go to class, do my thing and leave.

I used to go to pierce last year, now i'm at UCLA. I thought Pierce was a good school except for the awful math department and useless counselors. The Bio, chem and physics departments are quite good. Btw, valley is way behind pierce academically.

Yeah I was never fond of Valley either. The Pierce counselors just take up space. I can't wait to leave!!!!!

I'm pretty sure the things i hate about Pierce, I'll hate at other community colleges also. Pretty much waiting to get into a four year.

im thinking of going to pierce college next year and doing the tap program with hopes of transferring to ucla, berkeley, or usc.

is the honors program good? is it hard? any advice?

and whats a good place to live?
i wanted to live in la, studio city area ish, but im thinking i should just settle for the valley to save myself the drive.

ps. im a bio major!

the honors program is great, the honors counselors are helpful and very organized, you can walk in at anytime and there's always someone to talk to. never see a regular counselor, they try to end the meeting asap.

preferably, i'd live somewhere near the metro orange line because the bus drops you off in front of pierce, and the campus offers a $15 student bus pass for 6 months. i think they're doing that again next year.

over 90% of pierce tap certified students get into ucla and btw pierce doesn't offer tap for berkeley

and lavc is GARBAGE, their whole campus looks like a construction site and the buildings are SUPER old. it took me half an hour to find their financial aid office, it was located in a temporary bungalow behind a building that was hard to find. they made me wait an additional 20 minutes for help and when they finally did call me up they escorted me to a cubicle and i had to stand while i talked to the person. ugh so disorganized.

Pierce isnt too bad, I take some classes there and go to Moorpark mostly. Pierce just has disgusting bathrooms and the library's ghetto. I like how its diverse unlike Moorpark

i took a tour of pierce once to see if i wanted to go there but didn’'t like the campus, plus it was kinf of far, moorpark if even farther, went to pcc for a year, didn’t like it, so went to valley, it was alright.

im plannin on takin summer courses at pierce… i hope its well?
