Haha well, India is just cool in general. Like the culture and everything is just really fascinating.

Ok, so you know how I said we shouldn’t talk about all this stressing college stuff until June? Well…forget that for now.
I had a meeting with my counselor recently and she said I should start asking my teachers for recommendations now. Or at least after AP exams if they’re AP teachers and they’re stressed right now. Because after AP exams, everything is calming down and they don’t have much to worry about so they can start on yours early and make it really good because it’s like their first one and they have all the time in the world. Instead of asking in the beginning of senior year, when everyone else is also needing one. Because then they have to write like 20 in 3 months instead of just 1 for the rest of the school year. And even if they don’t start now, they might in the summer or the VERY beginning of next year…you’ll still be the first one on their list.

Anyone else going to start asking for recommendations soon?

I’ll also read the OP’s essay!
PMing would be great.

Though I got rejected from Harvard and Yale (unlike the ridiculous poster above me who got into both…), I DID get into Cornell, Williams, and Tufts. So I obviously didnt’ write horrendous essays ;)

And, HOLY CRAP @ the 5000 posts of a 2014’er… I considered myself addicted to CC and I have about 1500 posts and am a 2013’er!
I think you’ll do wonderfully next year… I can’t believe 2013 is over and 2014 is going to start soon.

Geez, I can’t believe 2014 is going to start soon either.

MY GOODNESS. You’re a freakin senior member already tetrisfan! Amazing. And I thought I went on CC a lot…

I know. I haven’t even started writing a whole essay. And I’m not even done taking all my SAT/SATIIs but yet, my counselor suggested asking for recommendations already! She said it’s not too early…
I’ll probably wait until May though. Probably after AP exams and all the seniors are gone. I just feel kinda weird asking for recommendations when nobody else is…

Any tips on how to ask? …awkward. I mean, I love the teachers I’m going to ask but it still feels so strange. It seems I’m putting a big burden on them or something.

I think the reason this thread has so many replies is that it’s basically a way for 2013’ers to show off that they just got accepted. So congrats on a brilliant marketing strategy for your essay, tetrisfan. With that said, I’d be happy to read it.

On the bright side, I got a really good idea about an essay yesterday! I think I’m gonna use it for my CommonApp one. Unless I get another brilliant idea. I’m really excited I hope it turns out ok.

I’m a 2014’er as well tetrisfan, but do you think you could send me your essay to read? I’m just curious is all; no competition or anything. I didn’t even know that yale released it’s essays for our year.

oh wow 2014’s are gathering xD I’m in the same spot as Anomaly, I would love to read your essay. It’s cool if you’re not comfortable with that though =]

Haha I’m just churning out spontaneous pieces of writing on no specific topic in general. And I’m not (yet) showing anything to 2014-ers, so I’m really sorry guys!
