Any current students get their financial aid yet?

It's August 3rd and I still haven't gotten my financial aid from Cornell yet. Is anyone else still waiting for theirs?

i am........

I am waiting. I called up the office and they told me there's a good chance that they won't have decided about before the tuition bills are due, so they told me to just pay what I did last year.

The same thing happened to us- we just wrote the check this afternoon for what we paid last year. Ugh.

I have not received mine either. I will be paying tomorrow, a little less than what I paid last year.

They only recommend that you make a payment, but don't require it. I am waiting for my official aid until I am writing a check. They are the ones responsible for being slow, so let them suffer the burden of late payments!

I haven't gotten it yet either. They told us they'd waive the late fees (as they should) so we're still waiting.

they claim computer problems for the late fin. aids ... yea my a**.

Yeah still haven't gotten it. I paid some of it (just so I wouldn't spend the money) but I really have no idea how much it will be.

still havnt gotten mine either! grrr. i'm not paying anything until I see what I have to pay for.

waiting for results of my appeal..

^appeal? so you received your aid already and you had to appeal? Is there any deadline for appeals?

I just got mine in the mail today. The tuition bill is due in 2 days on the 8th. Am I gonna get charged some kind of late fee for missing the payment?

you got it in the mail, but is it posted on JTF too?

i would assume they post on JTF first...

Yes, I checked JTF just now and it is there too.

I looked through my FA package and it seems like it's actually a few hundred dollars more than the tuition bill that is due in 2 days (removing the Federal Work Study). Does that mean I don't need to send anything?

You still in HEOP tun? If you don't mind, can you tell me your EFC as well as the amount of work-study? How does it compare to last year. I am in Tradition and I shouldn't have any loans under their new policy so I am wondering if they used the Tradition money to offset my work-study amount. Thank you.

Unless it specifically says that you have a balance...then you don't need to send anything.

Nah, I was never in HEOP. I wasn't eligible for it at the time that I applied. My EFC is almost 3K, and my work study for each semester is 1K. Pretty much the same as last year.

I've never done Tradition so I'm not sure how it will get applied.

I'm pretty sure any scholarship/fellowship money above the loan amount will be applied towards work-study. At least, that's what they say... but who really knows.

Chendrix you are right. I was mistaken.
