Hey all,
Just wondering if any current students play a sport (varsity or club, any season)? If you do, how are the time constraints? Do you find it manageable? I might try to do some club sports, assuming it isn't all that serious. Varsity sports are just on another level, considering it's Division I stuff lol.

You’d be surprised. Granted my friend and I were both members of multiple teams in high school and are semi-athletically talented (we were both captains of multiple sports), we both had the opportunity to play Varsity sports this year (got offers to play from the coaches).

I opted to not do either sport, and he opted to do club for a third sport. From what the coaches/players were telling me, Varsity sports meet on average 5-6 days a week (including conditioning practices), and sometimes multiple times per day.

Club sports on the other hand meet on average 2-3 times a week, although some (especially those that are the highest level the school has to offer, ie. Rugby) can meet 4-6 times a week. For club, you will be expected to be away for weekends at a time during season for tournaments.

Just curious, what sports did you get offers from and how did they know of your ability? I was captain of a varsity squad that was top in state last year, but I didn’t join the club here this year because I wanted to get my academics together first.

I might give a club sport a shot though. I mainly want to play for fun, not too competitive, just to get my skills up a little lol.
