I've heard that the student body is all the same throughout and that the school is so much into improving its reputation that they have taken a lot of classes away.

As a student, if you are do you think that Richmond provides ample maors and opportunities?

When people say that the student body is too homogeneous my answer is both yes and no. I am currently a senior here, and I have to admit at first when you arrive here you think wow everyone is dressed the same. But this could not be more untrue. Although the diversity is not great when it comes to international students and race, that's not something that should really deter anyone from coming due to the fact that the University, as many liberal arts schools, has been working hard to improve these statistics, but there really is no way to force results. Getting back to the point, I am a part of greek life and several other campus organizations, and you have the opportunity to hang out with so many different types of people if that is what you want to do, but as some people do, you also can hang out with people that are just like you if thats what you wanna do. So really, people are actually really diverse in character and personality, and I would say if anything is a somewhat constant is that people are really all looking to have a good time and make the best of their college experience at the U of R.

The University has been changing classes and shuffling teachers, but as far as I know this really doesnt have anythign to do with UR's shift and move towards a more 'ivy' status. As at every school, one usually unfounded complaint will turn into rumor and unfortunately some people will take it as truth. I and pretty much everyone I know have enjoyed the last four years so much, and it really is just about experiencing it, wherever one ends up, the best way is to experience it, so visit for a night or two and get your impression from there.
