I know Marist is COLD hah...other than that, i know it's mildy pricey but a good private school and the photos on marist.edu look pretty since it's right on the Hudson. I might apply. Does any one know any other colleges/universities that offer fashion design as a major?

My English teacher teaches at Marist once a week. Through him and other logistics, my high school allows for seniors to take sophomore level English classes from Marist while still fulfilling a high school curriculum. The class is structured interesting enough, and I could send you a copy of the syllabus if you would like. I know at least five other teachers from my school that teach at Marist, so unless it's some kind of sickness or something in the water, that may be kind of telling as to some kind of unmentioned appeal.

My friend also applied to Marist for education and received scholarship money. Its one of her more expensive schools, but I believe shes lost interest simply because Marist is not one of those schools that really grabs you. She mentions every now and then that she should take another look at it, however.

Business majors would be wise to look into Marist because of their unique position between both the city and the Hudson Valley. Internship opportunity for the same reason as well, but I am merely speculating. Marist is very sporty and preppy. Also, I went there to see Alice Sebold read, and it didnt really feel like a college town.

My impressions were rather eh, but who knows.

Marist College is a great place to get an education. For start, we are considered a medium sized school, but are still able to offer a 16:1 student"teacher ratio! Housing on campus has been recognized by Good Morning America as some of the best housing in the country! 85% of the faulty here have obtained the highest degree in their field, this means that the teachers are well educated and understand what they are teaching, that being said a majority of the professors who are here, teaching is their second job. This is great because of all the connections your professors can provide to you for future employment. Marist also excels in all the majors we have on campus. For example our business program is top 5% in the country, we are in the process of renovating academic buildings and a new science building will be built with a PA program and a grad program. Marist offers a major in sport communication, most schools don’t have this. Marist is also one of five colleges to broadcast on ESPN. The fashion program has grown so much so that now Marist is hosting fashion shows during fashion week! The campus is beautiful and really a lot of fun! Marist also cares about students after they graduate. 6 months after the class of 2013 graduated, 94% of the students were either employed or in grad school. Marist is a great campus and I truly suggest you come and tour to find out more!

Campus life is a lot more active than a lot of people think! We go to Broadway plays on the weekend for only $25, including transportation. Clubs have events over the weekends as well! There is a shuttle that takes students to the mall and grocery shopping! You will also make friends and will be able to hang out with your friends!

Campus life is great! I am a current student at Marist, and I absolutely love everything Marist has to offer! There are plenty of clubs and activities for students to participate in and meet new people. In addition to the beautiful campus, the students and faculty are so friendly and eager to help. I definitely recommend taking a tour of campus if you have the chance!
