Any Current Wharton Students...

not have any job/work experience prior to getting accepted into Wharton?

I talked to my regional admissions director a while back and she said that it was not necessary for acceptance.

But to me, 'necessary' doesn't mean 'recommended'.
All I've got going that's applicable to Wharton is that I'm strong in math (Vector Calculus and Linear Algebra at a local college), I have a few executive roles around school, and my teacher recommendations probably defined me as outgoing and communicative. I have a few other strong extracurriculars but they're not very business-orientated.

No job experience whatsoever, unless you count a short internship at a non-busness related company. So... how does that effect my chances?

“A non-business related company” hahaha, nice one.

I didn’t have any actual work experience, but I did have an unpaid internship at a wealth management firm and a graphic design studio, so make of that what you will.

I worked at jobs that were completely unrelated to finance, accounting, PE, wealth management, etc. and got in. They don’t want a class full of kids who are already managing their own portfolios, so I wouldn’t really worry about it. Working is working; having any type of job will be beneficial. Don’t worry man. You’ve got months until decisions. Hang out, be a bum for the second semester, and start freaking out once you get back from spring break.
