So it's been two days (almost) and some quite perspicacious people might have formed a good idea what the curves might look like.

Anyone want to share?

Anyone want to share?

Math (some controversy on the questions, so might be pretty lenient)

1 = 790 OR 800

2 = 760

3 = 750

4 = 740

5 = 710

6 = 690

7 = 680

8 = 670

9 = 670

10 = 650

Critical Reading (Thought was hard)

1 = 800

2 = 790

3 = 780

4 = 760

5 = 740

6 = 730

7 = 710

8 = 700

9 = 680

10 = 660 oor 670

^I agree with the math.

Though CR will prob be a -2/-3 800 and a -10 = 680-700

ugh, i’m hoping for a generous math curve but it seems unlikely. i thought reading and writing were fairly straightforward but they’re my strong suit. this was my first time taking it so i can’t really compare anyway.

any chance that -10 on the math would be like a 670? i know that i missed at least 6…

I think critical reading will be more generous. I hope math will be too, but I doubt it.

Hoping for a more generous CR. There seems to have been a lot of debate on that. I would be very happy with -1 790 on math since I believe that’s what I got.

im fairly certain the CR curve will be pretty nice seeing as there were a few questions that are causing a lot of controversy

^Does CB usually account for that? I mean how would they have known that those questions would cause controversy?

Is there a difference between missing an MC on math versus one of the others for calculating a score?

The curve will mostly likely be the following

Math
-1…800
-2…780
-3…760
-4…740
-5…710
-6…700
-7…680
-8…660
-9…640
-10…620

Writing
-1…800
-2…780
-3…760
-4…730
-5…700
-6…690
-7…680
-8…660
-9…650
-10…640

Critical Reading
-1…800
-2…800
-3…800
-4…770
-5…750
-6…730
-7…720
-8…710
-9…700
-10…690
-11…680
-12…670
-13…660
-14…640
-15…630
-16…620
-17…610
-18…600
-19…580
-20…560

I honestly thought the CR was easier than usual. But that’s just my opinion from the practice tests I’ve done in the blue book. Usually I get like 760-780 on them but this time I’m fairly certain I got an 800 with only one wrong.
Anyways the curve for CR will probably be either -2 = 800 or -3 = 800.
I honestly have no idea how they determine whether a test is ‘harder’ than usual. Isn’t the curve for writing always the same? Because that’s how it is in the Blue Book.

My curve is fairly accurate because I looked at many different College board curves from the past 5 years (and the blue book) and composed this.

And no, the writing curve ISN’T always the same.

Thanks for your research. Curves are hard to predict. Btw, is your writing just the mc score or is based on an average essay?

Just the multiple choice.

If you get a 12 on the essay, your scores will be higher by like 10 points or so (after the -3 mark that is).

Wolf I hope your curve is correct because then I am looking at an 800 in reading and an 800 in math (: …not so sure about writing though but writing is hard to calculate your score early…

These curves are based on difficulty:

Writing Curve - Medium
Critical Reading - Between Medium and Easy
Math: Borderline of Hard and Medium

The math curve may be more generous…we can only hope.

Overall my curve will give you a grounded perspective of your score.
NOTE: Your score can vary 30 points up or down based on my curve.

I think the curve should be based around
writing-medium
math-medium/easy
reading-medium/hard

I say for the whole test it will be the curve in the Bluebook p437-438 with the exception of math being -1 = 780/790

I highly disagree on wolfs writing curve - in march i got a 610 and had a minus 15, and a poor essay

Seemed to me the reading and writing were extremely easy; the math was harder than any QAS I’ve done.
