Any downside to taking the SATs several times?

Like could I take them as a rising junior and chose not to report the scores right sway a la registration reporting option. But if they are good can i choose to report them?

But say I take it again in the Spring and report those scores regardless,Would the other scores be seen?

i don't know whether they're seen or not cuz i haven't taken the SAT myself, but i've been hearing that colleges don't like it when u take the SATs alot. like i'd saii 2 times is good.

Some schools do look down on it if you start taking the tests more than 3 times, wondering why you didn't put your energy somewhere else. I took it twice, and I think that's a good number.

First the worst
second the best
thirds the turd

You get the point.

So, say for example I am applying to a school that superscores - if I take the SAT three times, that reflects poorly on my part?

3 times is fine. Maybe even 4. Colleges say 2 is probably enough, but if you take it like 2 times a year, they aren't really going to complain. They just recommend that you do something more productive with your time. ECs and GPA matters more than the SAT, so spending time improving those is much more important.

Assuming you're class of 2010 or later, the College Board lets you choose which scores to send, and to the best of my knowledge, they do not report how many times you've taken the test, so there really should be no limit to the number you can take. However, I also read recently that the CB allows individual schools to set different requirements, so some school may choose to accept only complete SAT transcripts. I don't know which, if any, schools have made that choice. Anyone else know more?
