Any easy APs you can just study an AP prep book without taking the course, and pass the AP Exam?

Hello, this is my first thread so I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I’m a Sophomore currently and I find that one of my APs is too easy, and I wonder what other APs are super easy. I heard from people on the forums that some courses like AP Macroeconomics and AP Psychology you can just read the Princeton AP prep and get a 5 on it. What other courses are there and what was your exam score?

I’m taking AP Macroeconomics, and I find it far too easy when I read a 500 page book that they have. I have to read a lot of pages for a semester course because of the small font, and the content is not very condensed with lots of explanations and examples, which I probably don’t need because I understand immediately. There is a bit of homework in the course too. I’m still allowed to drop courses because it’s still within the first 6 weeks of school. Should I quickly order a AP Macro Prep Princeton review and if I understand everything in the review book, will I be able to get a 4 or 5 on the exam?

I’m a bit overwhelmed with course workload right now, so I’m trying to find ways to drop some of my courses while still having a great sophomore transcript, and I hope to do that by just reading the AP prep book for any easy APs and taking the exam. It would also be very nice to know any other easy APs that I can read the prep book without taking the course and ace the exam, because I would like to have as many APs as possible my sophomore year so I won’t have to do so many in my Junior year where SAT is rumbling.

Thanks!

The easiest AP courses that you can self study are the two levels of economics, psychology, human geography and enviornmental science. I would suggest you stay in your AP class just for the extra GPA point. I would study the APs that your school doesn’t offer.

Go for it, if you think it’s so easy, but Economics is not generally considered one of the easier APs. If you are good in American History or World History, go for those. I know someone who took both without the coursework and scored a 3 and 4 which gave him elective credits at his target private college.

AP Government is another easy one that you could realistically get a 3 in

Yup, I’m going to decide to actually just take the AP Government course, spend an hour on it and finish. Mostly commong sense I head. You have a good point Leyland, and I dfecided I would take AP Macroeconomics for the gpa and it only took 45 minutes so it’s all good. That’s a good idea. I’m self studying all the psch, human geo, and enviromental science. Thank you for all the advice.

Wait you’re going to finish AP Gov in one hour?

If you’re overwhelmed by your courses’ workload right now, I’m not so sure self studying more classes is the right way to go.
