<p>I am going to have to take 10b and 10c this summer and during fall at UCSD. I'm an Econ major at Revelle. I got an A in math 3a, which is my cc's first semester of calc, but 3b has been difficult. </p>
<p>Looking over course material for 10b and 10c, it seems significantly easier than what has been required at my community college, but I am not sure of how it will be once I am actually in the class. </p>
<p>Anybody else in the same boat?</p>
<p>I finished all calculus courses in two quarters (took the AP BC Exam for the first two) and differential equations, while currently taking linear algebra. UC courses will tend to be more difficult than at a community college with some varying degree depending on the professor at the community college, you might want to try to finished them at a CC instead, it will be cheaper too.</p>

<p>loller: pre-reqs calc? 10 series and 20 series are both calc, but 10 series is just easier i think. and yeah, the classes should transfer over… just check it on assist! :)</p>
<p>^ 10 series will not allow you to take linear algebra according to the assist site, so if you plan to go into advanced studies it is best to take the 20 series</p>
<p>us UCSD econ people only need the 10 series. I was planning on taking it at UCSD this summer starting with 10b. I think with focusing on just the one class it might be passable.</p>
<p>There is a website with statistics of grades based on department and classes. Looks like about 50 percent get passing grades in the math 10 series classes.</p>

<p>What are the actual differences between management science and economics?
Based on the UCSD economics site economics and managerial upper division courses are pretty much the same except economics need to take macroeconomics and that there are three mandatory courses for managerial majors to take, which are possible electives for economics majors…</p>

<p>Its the name that gets ppl hooked to it. It has the word “Management” attached to it so many think its a business type program but turns out to be pure economics. This is usually the same for business economics. The only real dual “business” and economics program at the UC’s that I’ve seen is at UCLA because the curriculum actually includes classes from the Anderson school of Management. Other programs are kinda … yea. But they are certainly marketable tho.</p>

<p>Guys, I’m pretty sure that the 20-series Calculus is for engineering majors, thus the ability to move on to DE. Or so my girlfriend said, who finished the 10-series.</p>
