I applied ED2 to Vanderbilt after getting rejected from Northwestern...and i am so grateful that i was. I visited Vandy in November after not being able to previously, and i fell in love. After my visit i regretted applying to NU and i am so relieved that Vanderbilt has an ED2 option. Anyone else applying?

I am! I know EDII acceptance rate is lower than EDI, but is it still advantageous over RD in terms of the acceptance rate? I just really hope Feb. 15th comes quickly!

ohheythere4:

It definitely has its advantages; it shows the admissions counselors that Vandy is your #1 choice. It’s risky, however, because Vanderbilt doesn’t defer students often and many of the ED spots were taken by applicants in ED1. Vanderbilt’s accepts about 30% of their newest class from ED1 and ED2.

I know they don’t separate the stats between EDI and EDII, but does anyone have an estimate of how many people they take during EDI and how many spots are left for EDII? I just really want to attend and hope I didn’t hurt my chances by applying EDII considering how hard the school is to get into in the first place.

ohheythere4:

No, don’t worry! It definitely didn’t ruin your chances. You would have the same chance either way; your credentials aren’t changing depending on which admission option you choose. If they want you and like you, you will get accepted either way. I don’t think they publish how many people applied/were accepted ED1. Don’t worry - you’ll get your decision soon! I’m really jealous, I get mine in April :/.

My daughter has applied ED2 as well. Trying to keep her expectations realistic!

Has anyone seen the class of 2017 admission stats for ED1 and ED2? @ohheythere4, I am feeling the same as you. Wishing I did ED1. I hate this waiting :0

ahhh would any of you mind chancing me? I will chance back! too nervous for this decision!
