Any Elks Scholarship Applicants here?

I can't because I'm not a US citizen. :(

Where is the website for this scholarship?

this application is tedious.

it is indeed.

I'm also applying for it. I actually fit well into all the categories, even financial need, so I'm really hopeful that I can at least get the $4000 one. I'm all done except for the essay....

Is there a point to applying for this if you don't qualify for financial need?

what is defined as "financial need"? my family makes almost 60000 a year, we have no mortgage (our house is worth over 400000), and we have about 75000 in our savings. will we qualify for "financial need"?

I've had the form for about a month, but I figured it wasn't really worth it. I don't know what changed, but I decided to do it yesterday. Even though it's very tedious, I'll be done.

At least one person from my school gets $1000, the lodge guarantees, so I might as well try, stiff though the competition is.

is your home factored into your family assets?

i see that in the app the elk head has to fill out a part, do they do that once they receive the scholarshiP? do u send the scholarship to the same place?

Do we send the application in? I seem to recall them saying we need to drop it off at our local Elk foundation/building....but I could be wrong.

send it to your local elks lodge...if you can find it:)

So what would they consider financial need? Do they take into account the college you wish to enroll in?

collegebound: I'm wondering about that too....because my family's raw income doesn't show significant need...but when you take into consideration a private university's cost, we do need considerable assistance.

the sheet they provide isn't really a complete view of your family situation. Does anybody feel this way too?

to a certain degree, yes, but on the whole, it's mostly accurate. I'm all done w/ my app!

are you serious? It factored my parent's house into the assets. However, neither the FAFSA nor the PROFILE ( At least I don't think so) does. I don't know. I just don't think they are getting the whole picture. (But i guess that's where the parental statement comes in)

I'm sending mine off tomorrow.

my family makes well over 100,000 per year and we have a house that is 800,000 and we live in southern orange county. i am applying to mostly uc schools. i don't think that i will get any money. what do you think?

I think that your financial status will definitiely hurt your chances.
