Any experience with FPF San Francisco?

Hi everybody,
I recently got off the waitlist and I am having a hard time deciding between FPF San Francisco and January start. On one hand, FPF allows me to get that “freshman experience” of living in the dorms and experiencing all that Cal has to offer. If I were to start in January, however, I would be able to take local city college classes for free. Either way, I would end up taking the same classes in Fall it would just either be in SF or at home. Does anybody have any FPF San Francisco experiences they could share?

D had a friend that went through FPF San Francisco - hated it. The extra commuting is probably a major time suck - it’s 40 minutes on BART one-way from Unit 3 (which you would have to pay for) or 60 minutes via AC Transit (which is covered in your fees).

I don’t know how much you’ll miss by joining the Cal community spring semester, but people do it all the time. I don’t know how difficult it is to get spring-only housing as a freshman (vs. getting in in the fall).

I’m sure someone can chime in (another poster is doing an “Ask Me Anything” post, but it looks like he did FPF Berkeley).

To clarify, BART does not pull up outside Unit 3. You would either have to bus it or walk to the BART station.
