I'm applying to Grove City College with a 4.0 community college GPA (now enrolled in Honors program), a 3.7 high school GPA and 1930/2400 score. They encourage transfers to apply for spring because they have more slots, but I'm shooting for fall. I'm willing to re-activate my application for spring if that fails. Anyone have any experience with this school or can you give me some idea of my chances?

Thanks!

The only thing I can tell you is that this school barely has diversity. They continue to email me about applying because am black.

According to Collegeboard this is the racial makeup:

<1% American Indian/Alaskan Native
3% Asian/Pacific Islander
<1% Black/Non-Hispanic
1% Hispanic
94% White/Non-Hispanic
<1% Non-Resident Alien
1% Race/ethnicity unreported

SMH at the <1% for blacks.

Hmmm, I’m hispanic. Hey maybe they’ll give me a scholarship? In spite of all my research, this information has never been on my radar screen. Seems other Christian schools may be lots more diversified. Wonder why they’re so vanilla.

I live about 10 minutes from Grove City. One of the most conservative schools in the country. You should get in no problem though, its a good school for going into education.Dry campus and there is almost nothing to do around the area except for an outlet mall and its about an hour north of Pitt I suppose. Again, VERY conservative, they expelled a student of age who did gay porn on the side completely legal for “not upholding university standards”

Okay - so now that I’ve learned something about the lack of diversity at GCC, can someone tell me why they’re so white? Other Christian schools in PA (i.e., Messiah) are more diverse than GCC. What’s the deal?

It’s really just the area, the majority of people in this area are white.

It is more like an extension of high school than a college…lots of clicks! Absolutely nothing to do…I am transfering out!
