Brown hasn’t changed much in 5 years if that helps my case… When people live there for all 4 years the culture doesn’t shift much. Alumni are also active with residents so again the culture doesn’t change much. Here are some of my favorite Brown College memories:
All of the slippery when wet signs were sharpied so it looked like the scene from 300 (google caution this is sparta)
Reenacting gladiator with foam weapons in the ampitheater then coming back to Brown, watching gladiator, and munching on grapes and cheese (this has got to be the best thing Social ever put on)
Wizard People, Dear Reader showings
Outdoor movie screenings (put a big sheet on the back of Gildersleeve and bring out the projector and chairs)
College Confidential get togethers in the Brown computer lab (there were a number of active CC members living in Brown during my stay)
Of course, hauntings
Reading the applications over the summer
Broomball on the ice skating rink downtown
Bathroom parties
I had a “freezer warming” party my 3rd year when my roommate and I purchased a freezer (she already had a mini fridge). We bought a bunch of ice cream sandwiches and popsicles and invited everyone in our portal
Brown has a big computer science population, so having computer science parties in my room
Basically nerdy but social things
