I wish I can just go and visit the campus, but I am in the Bay Area and am 8 hours away. So I was wondering what the immediate campus surrounding of UCSD is like.

Are there any eateries, restuarants, and fast food places within walking distance from campus?

Also, are there any boba tea shops and noodle restaurants nearby?

there are plenty within walking distance, though ppl still tend to just take the bus since it's easier if they don't have a car. to name a few there's fridays, bj's, cpk, ralph's, jamba juice (tho there's one on campus too at price center), and islands along villa la jolla. i don't know if there are any boba shops for walking distance, but i do kno there's a tea station about 10 minutes away driving. if ur willing you could also go to utc (university town center -> it's like a mall that's outdoors) by bus or car (like 3-5 minutes) and there's plenty of restaurants there as well http://westfield.com/utc/.

the surrounding area is mostly residential, but the ucsd campus buses go off campus and go to local places like the nearby utc mall, and other shopping centers nearby, and the buses leave from campus and run pretty late every date of the week. fyi, the new price center expansion is going to have a few more eateries, full service grocery store, lounges, and a rumored night club on friday/sat nights, and it will be completed january 2008.
