I thought we only had until May 14 to accept the offer, and we would have "at least a week" to accept. That means we were expecting the offer by today at the latest. But...nothing.

From my experience, freshmen get their housing offers in August.

Thanks for the info phospholipase. The UCLA website says “early May” with a deadline to accept and give a deposit by May 14.

I got my email today with my housing offer. And yeah it says to reply by May 14 and stuff.

Yes. I just got it too. Triple at De Neve

Yeah! Just got it now. Triple in Sunset, heard mixed reviews about it but oh well.

What do people say about Sunset Village? I got it too, triple, and haven’t heard much about it at all…

Triple in Hedrick. How do roommates work? 2 of my friends and I all requested each other and ended up in a Hedrick triple, except it doesn’t specify that we’re roommates. Anyone know anything?

Daughter got a triple at Hedrick Hall. I guess she will be doing a lot of walking.

Daughter and her friend also requested that they be placed in same room and were assigned to Hedrick. I don’t think you learn about your actual roommates until later, perhaps not until August.

From what I’ve read from previous years, we don’t get our actual roommate assignments until August.

@Debbey
I hear that it’s a lot less social than residence halls and high-rise plazas (more quiet), which means that if that’s your thing, that’s great, but if you want more social options that may be a little constricting. On the other hand, I’ve heard that Sunset gatherups aren’t that uncommon and that we DO have neighbours, and are not just little segregated cells.
Apparently Sunset has nice rooms.

Got a double at Sproul Hall =D

triple de neve residence hall

triple at rieber hall

triple in HITCH

Everyone’s last choice, right? and the worst possible fit for my kid’s personality.

Oh and as an extra bonus for the parents, it’s thousands more than the residence halls. whoop

I tried entering this question in the nifty AskHousing search engine “why is the housing option that everyone HATES thousands of dollars more than the residence halls?” but I didn’t get any hits

Triple (Private bath) in Sunset Village.

Most likely submitting a CAR though. I want a hall, mainly because it’s (thousands) more affordable and definitely more sociable. Being a private might be too excluded for me.

Double in Hedrick Summit w/ shared bath with my friend

Triple in Hedrick Hall. Just my luck to get the hall farthest from campus

I’m in a triple at Hitch as well definitely submitting a CAR

Hedrick is great. DS actually lost weight due to living there, instead of gaining the “freshman 15”. It’s a built-in workout!

If my kid loses weight he might vanish.
