Any future Domers take the SAT today?

how do you think you did?

did you take it chillin? now it seems like forever to get your scores back. i'm so glad i don't have to do anymore testing

ya i took it.............

i bombed BOMBED one math section, but i think i did pretty solid on the rest

hoping for close to an 800 in writing but idk

did you take it< howd it go?

its 2 and a half weeks till i get the scores back FEB 15th 5 am eastern

ah, good luck chillin! i know how badly you want to go to ND so i definitely hope you get the scores you want. but, take solace in the fact that you'll have more opportunities to take them if you're not satisfied

thanks RunRinCT......i was quite depressed after the test, but Ive calmed down now

ive got other things on my mind now.... baseball tryouts

ill post my scores once i get them

I took it yesterday too. I'm pretty sure I bombed math as well. In one section, I got caught up on a problem and the proctor called 5 minutes and I still had about 8 left blank. I worked fast and got most of the rest done, but I'm sure they're probably wrong. And thats besides that fact that I suck at math anyway.
But I can't wait for the 15th anyway. I'll probably set my alarm for 4 am my time, so I can just check them right away.

haha ya thats what im planning on doing... but it will be 3 for me

ya one math section just killed me

wutd you think about the vocab? i swear college board made half of the words up

Get this: I just took the literature subject test, and one of the poems (by Keats) on the exam I had just written a 3 page essay on for my English midterm!

IdRatherBeSATing, that's awesome. Very lucky right there.

Chillin, yea, the vocab was crazy. There was one word that I only knew because its actually in a song I like and I had just recently tried to figure out what it was. I guess I was lucky there. Although, rereading that, it makes me sound like a nerd. I mean, who looks up words from song lyrics? But anyway... yea, those vocab words were a bit out there. Hopefully, I did good on it anyway.
And, hopefully that math sections we both bombed were the ones that they don't actually count. That would be wonderful.

I took it on the 26th...are all the SATs the same for people who took it on the same day nationwide? jw. But anyway, I notice a lot of people didn't get a few on the math. I found a couple of them hard, and one that actually could not be solved, but oh well. btw, are we allowed to discuss which one may have been the experimental section...i don't want to violate collegeboard rules, and then get screwed over for college admissions becuase I have a criminal record or something lol. But yeah, I think I can guess which section was experimental, so let me know if we can discuss it.

here's my analysis:
Math ~ Except for one section and one problem, I thought it was very easy, but in general I find the math patheticly easy to begin with.
Critical Reading ~ Wow, much harder than I expected. I'm hoping for 700 at least, but expecting between 630-670
Writing ~ Usually mu achilles heel, but this time luck was in my favor because the essay was something I argue with my dad about all the time (I won't say what it is becuase again I don't want to disobey the college board rules), and seriously, the writing seemed really easy this time.

but now, because I said this, my math and writing will suck, and my CR will be an 800 lol.

ya im sure its fine

ummm ya i def had a math expirmental because i had 4 sections... but the one i bombed was not the expirmental which is bad

my essay was about happiness and work... and i just had to write a paper about it for my relegion class the teacher of which is an ND grad..... take that for what its worth

you seem smart california.....i hope you did as well as yiou think

Yeah I think we had the same test. I think the experimental one was the section with 16 questions or so, and I had no idea how to do a couple of the problems there. For one of the grid-ins, it really didn't make sense because no matter what I did, I could not find an answer to it. So maybe its a faulty question or something.

haha you should talk to some of the kids in my school and ask them how smart they think I am, then we'll see. I'm bad with language which is why I hate the SAT. Working with words was never a strength of mine, and english has wayyyy too many rules and exceptions for me to do good in. Thats why I like math: numbers are easy, its universal, and there are very few exceptions, but more than one way of solving a given problem. But oh well, I'm hoping that by debating with people here on CC, I can get better on my writing skills, and that the SAT computer system/graders think I'm as smart as you think I am ;)

I think the tests are all the same, with just the sections mixed up. I could be wrong though.

ya..... i really just want to know my scores

chillin, if I were you, I'd tell notre dame in ur PS or something that ur chillin till 08 on CC. And tell them to read your posts to show them how much you really want to go to Notre Dame. It would really suck to me if someone as passionate as you about one school doesn't get in :(

hahah.... dont think Ill do that

hopefully my passion to be a domer will come through in my application

i hope i did well, as long as my scores improved ill be happy.
one question, are you just leeting college board send in the score sheet, or are you all requesting a rush delivery. either way it seems as though the scores will get there at the same time. im just worried my scores wont get there by a deadline and my work will count for noth. any help would greatly relieve some major stress.

ND is pretty good about not really caring if you get all the periphery documents in at the exact right time, as long as you have the main application. Neither of my recommendations made it in time, and all they did was send me a nice letter saying please send them in. I wouldn't stress too much about being a little late, as long as your app and your essay were in on time.

well since im only a junior i dont need to worry about rush delivery
ha

when calling they mentioned that there was time to get it in but she also said that to be on the safe side i should send ti rush delivery, but im not eactly sure how and not sure if it changes the arrival date anyways.
