Any future Domers take the SAT today?

So, I just got my scores. I'm pretty excited since its the first time I took them. My writing could definitely be higher, but my math was higher than expected, because I suck at math. So hopefully, I can bring up the scores a bit more the next couple times I take them.

Critical Reading - 740
Math - 640
Writing - 650 (Multiple Choice - 66, Essay - 8)

The minimums I wanted was 1400 out of 1600 and 2200 out of 2400, and I'm pretty close with 1380/2130, so I'm excited.
I want to bring up my scores to all at least in the 700s and I think I can. My mom was released from the hospital two days before I took them and I hadn't had anytime to concentrate on the test coming up, so I'm hoping next time I'll be a little less stressed.

How did everyone do? Probably just as wonderful, or more likely, better, since we all want ND and they require high scores.

Chillin--you're figuring you could come close to an 800 on the SAT writing, you're only a junior, and you have anxiety about getting in?

Puh-LEASE! Quit worrying!

I have a hunch about you... So far, I'm 2 for 2 on hunches :)

SCSquidSnaps, excellent work.

Thanks. =)

What were everybody's scores?

ummm... do I have to say?

Math 680
CR 660
Wr 740

Your first attempt is 10 points below my highest score.

Gah.

And I took the test three times.

It's a very good start since your writing score is locked. Math will be very easy to raise. If you torture yourself with the official study guide this summer, then I think your critical reading score will rise rapidly.

Basically, you're on your way to break 2100.

chillen, you're writing is crazy. What did you get on your essay? Also, I wouldn't worry about your CR score. I assume you're going to take it again, just because you seem disappointed, and with your writing score as high as it is, I can bet your CR will go up a lot.

Also, it has occurred to me that I cant count, because I got 2030, not a 2130. So that disappoints me a bit, but eh. I'm going to work on it.

It's good to have at least 700 on each section.

That way, your nervous heart rests just a little bit better every night.

I got 800 CR, 740 M, 800 W and barely got in.

congrats on those scores! hopefully you at least feel a bit of relief now that you know where you're starting from. plus there is so much time to work on getting scores even higher between now and the fall. good luck and congratulations! =)

Hey guys...good scores! Just a quick question, how do you guys think the SAT compares to the ACT? Do u guys think it's easier/harder?? And chillin, I always feel the same way you do about everything! Our love for ND, test score anguish at times, worrying about getting into ND as early as our junior years!!

chillin great start. get the answers from your test so you know what you need to work on. GEt the SAT prep book and study study study and you will get above where you need to be

ya i know!

iM JUST happy that I have a starting place

umm I think someone asked me about my essay score... it was a 12

thanks for the motivation kr123

Its act studying time now .... april 14th... 2 days after my 17th birthday

and congrats to who got those great scores with the 800s.......I dont think I understand your comment about "barely got in"

Wow. A 12 out of 12 is good.

KSAzN, I've heard people say you either do really good on the ACT and bad on the SAT or vice versa. There's not really one thats harder than the other.

It's a joke, Chillin. I was hoping people would get unnecessarily freaked out or something.

why do you say you barely got in?

To miss the maximum score by two questions and then state that said score was barely sufficient for acceptance implies that acceptance is quite difficult. Hence, intimidation is the result. Get it now? ha. ha. ha.

hahah i gotcha putsch....

ya you guys are talking about the differences between the sat and act....

my next test is the act on the 14th of april.. so i went out and bought cracking the act by PR.... and I already think that this is my kind of test

The only questions that have stumped me a bit is some of the TRIG questions

theres no NO LET ME REPEAT THAT NOOOOOOO VOCAB

how awesome is that........

its sometimes hard for me to comprehend why a test that i take for 3 hours determines whether or not i get to go to Notre Dame

i hear you with that one, chillin...
