I’m halfway through my gap year and ahhhh college decisions are coming out in March. I waited 6 months for these decisions to come out , my anxiety is kicking in and would like to know if anyone else is in a similar situation ?
My story: I graduated from high school in 2018 and dormed at UC Santa Barbara for 2 weeks. I thought it was my best fit- it’s closest to home and the location seemed amazing, literally steps away from the beach.
Wrong! I never toured the campus >-< until it was too late to submit an SIR to another University and then I had to move in 3 months later. I couldn’t handle staying there any longer. I just didn’t feel that connection, I knew from the start that I didn’t like it at all.
The people were so nice, but I just didn’t feel the vibe. I stopped doing my homework and welllllllll I just withdrew from UCSB and decided to take a gap year.
Now I won’t be so silly ^^ I’ll tour every campus I am accepted to and carefully weigh out my options.
Currently, I’ve been traveling out of the country to visit family and doing chemical research at my local college. I’m also looking for a little seasonal job and finding ways to distract myself from checking my portals :] .
Feel free to talk about what your doing in your gap year, why you are taking it or anything really ^^
