Any General Questions about UCSC?

You’re at a uc. everything is impacted. even majors that weren’t impacted are now impacted. it wasn’t too big of a problem for me to get into the lower div chem and bio classes because i had alot of units from AP’s. At some point though you’ll probably have trouble getting into classes. They have a system where you’re only allowed into two classes at first then one more class so you can pretty much get two classes that you want but the third will just be luck of the draw.

The food is not only plentiful but good quality also. Freshmen should make sure they get the 7 day plan. My son, whose friends opted for the 5-day regret not getting the 7-day. Anyone complaining about the food at UCSC should really consider themselves lucky (being able to eat all they want, several times a day). My other son is at Cal Poly and virtually starving - because of the crazy dining credits mealplan that doesn’t cover a full week’s worth of meals and a schedule that necessitates him eating dinner off the late-evening menu (which costs more), which means we’re sending another $70/week to cover what the dining plan doesn’t. UCSC takes this life necessity off the list of things you have to worry about.

Not to mention that there are plenty of options for on-campus dining.

I’m really interested in the marine biology and biology majors and would like to know what people think about them.
