Any Girls Applying to Notre Dame?

My SAT score is ok (1310), GPA 3.9, from an all girl Catholic school. I'm thinking about applying EA to Notre Dame. Do you think that's a bad idea? I read they want 1400 SAT for EA admission. Is EA only accepted or rejected or can you also be differed and reviewed along with the regular applicants? I was never really clear on that?

Also, seems like lots of guys applying to ND are their many women applicants? Does anyone have a breakdown? Just wondering....

Sorry, mean't deffered (sp?) oops

I am also a girl and applying to ND. I went to an information session at my high school and my admission officer told everyone unless they were the highest applicants then she would not suggest applying ED. I was told the same from a parent of an ND student who also happens to be my college counselor. I am applying RD, and i have close stats as you my sats are a little higher but you GPA is a bit higher than mine.

I also know someone who was very close to our stats who got rejected last year for ED and someone who was accepted...so who really knows.

They accept, reject, and defer...I got the feeling they reject a lot of the ED applicants. Hope this helps before the deadline! Good luck with all

I'm applying next year.....

I'm a girl with 1400 SAT 3.8 uw GPA applying RD I hope we all get in! By the way the student body has slightly more male students.

Female, Chicago suburb, latest ACT 31. Top 6% of class. Applied RD in Math. Rec'd letter saying they will contact applicants in April.

Girl, Birmingham, Alabama. 4.06 GPA, 1420 SAT. TONS of ECs, leadership positions, that kind of thing. Lots of community service, too. I'm applying EA.

Does the intended major on your app make a difference with admissions?

No, according to Notre Dame, the intended major makes no difference in admissions. Every freshman is entered into the First Year of Studies Program for their freshman year. Only after that must you declare what college within the University you want to go into. The "intended major" section is merely for them to get an idea of what their incoming class will be like. It has no effect on whether you get accepted or not.

I got a letter today saying that my file was complete and that I should hear yea/nay by December 21. The count-down begins!

ahh why haven't i got this letter
