are there any good tutor courses in portland, oregon? i found this site http://www.eurekareview.com/ and they guarantee 150 points increase or money back. are there any good tutor courses in portland, oregon or close to where i live where they offer money back guarantee?

I'm not the greatest studier and if they force homework on me and guarantee a score increase, i will be force to do my work.

what do ppl think of these courses and could anybody on CC give me any recommedation.

I would hope for one-on-one tutor if best as they would probably help me in areas i'm deficient in.

suggestions?

from what I've deduced after reading about courses on the forums, i believe going to take these prep classes are a complete waste of time . sure, it may sound like a great deal like "200 points increase garauntee", but these classes are greater marketeres then teachers .

but that is only my opinion and the opinions of many others, but everyone has his or her unique way of prepping . just do what works BEST for you .

hmmm... thanks for the reply.

I'm not a good studier, but I will do my homework. i was thinking perhaps a program that guarantees score if all homework was done would be nice.

does anybody know of a good tutor, perferably one on one, in the oregon/washington vancouver area?

or anybody have any feedback about how their experiences went?

I live nowhere near oregon, but I used to take an SAT class that gave me loads of homework. As in, they give you a nice, thick binder at the end of class and say, "Oh, the next time we come back we'll review the questions!" and I had to do all the questions by next week. Most of the stuff that we did in class was just learn how to solve certain types of problems, and then we applied that to the mass amounts of questions. I think it worked though, because my score went up a little over 200 points (this was back in the old SAT). I can't recall the exact name of the tutor but I took the class in some place called Kumon, it was mostly asian and indian dominated and the classes were in groups of 6.

hmmmm.... did they have score guarantee in your course?

don't remember. but they were pretty up-front about people who improved. Like, they'd post their names and stuff in the newspaper ads. I think that their headquarters is based in California so maybe you could find one in Oregon? (considering there was one in NJ). I can't guarantee their methods are the same because this was when they had the old SAT.

has anybody tried to eureka program or heard much about it? 200 pt guarantee is a pretty big money back guarantee.
