I am an Indian.

Stanford is need aware for international students. The only people I know who have gotten Stanford from India are mainly the folks from the well known international schools with IB curriculum. Not to say that is a deal breaker. But with Stanford…and the big schools, they want to know how YOU can contribute to the student body. Everyone has great academics, what makes you unique, especially among the highly academic indian applicants.

Table tennis is not a sport that is popular here, so that may not add anything more to your apps. There was link published in MIT admission…I think that applies everywhere.

As a current freshman, it seems you certainly have the academic/extracurricular qualifications. What I’d suggest you do, is put real effort (by which I mean, weeks of writing and editing over the summer) into your application essays. Stanford requires several essays and short answers beyond the Common App essay for a reason: they want to get to know you. As mentioned above, international admissions is even more competitive, though it will help that you are not applying for aid.

First of all, thanks for the replies guys, really appreciate your effort.
Yes, I do know that Table Tennis is not very popular in the US, but I played it because I loved it and not because I wanted to get into an Ivy.
I always thought that the colleges wanted deapth in any particular EC and I do seem to have that.
Also, I DO plan to spend about 4 months writing CA essays and planning to write the supplement essays as soon as they are released.

Hope I can turn the odds and get in, I really want to attend an am applying SCEA, hope it shows my passion towards college.:)
