So, this past year I auditioned for few programs (due to the fact that i had to live at home freshman year) and was not selected for an MT major. I was however, accepted at Berklee College of Music for Vocal Performance. But, I'm wondering how far this is going to set me back.

I did have the option of an MT major at a small state university, but I thought that a Degree from Berklee would open more doors for me. Any Opinions? I am hoping to transfer within the next few years.

please any insight would be appreciated

Berklee is a very well-regarded music program. You will probably get very good training there. Take advantage of everything you can get -- if you do decide to transfer, I'm sure it will put you at an advantage.

People don't get roles because they have "MT" degree on their resumes. They get roles because of their audition, their experience, and their abilities. If you are getting excellent vocal training, then find a way to the acting and dancing training on the side--even though it doesn't help your diploma requirements. What's important is what you learn not the piece of paper. -- Probably the only field where this is true.
