I'm 45 on the waiting list for a class I really want to take, but it only has 90 students in it, so it doesn't look like I'll get in. I was just wondering if you think it's worth me going to see the professor and begging and pleading, or once it's full, is that it?

It really depends on the class. What is it? What's the usual attrition rate? Which department?

The top 10% of waitlist proportional to class usually get in. In this case, it's 9. So chances are low. You should talk to the professor though.
