I am a caucasian female. I go to an all-girl's, catholic, private, college preparatory academy in PA. Last year, I was in the hospital for a very long time and my grades dropped dramatically. I now have a 2.7 GPA which will be at least a 3.0 by the time I graduate. I just received my SAT scored today. I scored a 1500.

I will be taking it again and also the ACT's. My numbers are terrible and do not reflect how I perform in class. I studied abroad in Italy and Greece last summer, I play golf, softball, volleyball, and field hockey. I participate in many clubs, and do ministry and service. I am an ambassador for my school. I want to go to college in either North or South Carolina. My intended major is Counseling Psychology and a minor in Business. Is there any hope of me getting into at least a state school? These were my lowest scores just to be positive that I have a chance. Where do I stand?

You should have an opportunity to explain the circumstances regarding your GPA, especially of you’re able to do an interview. Work on your SATs, & shoot for closer 500s & you should be okay.

As the person above me said, they should give you the opportunity to explain your circumstances. If you could work on your SAT and bring it up to something like 1800, than you should be just fine : ]

Damnn that is really good your extracurriculars and everything. You’ll definitely get into state schools, especially with a 3.0 by the time your graduated.
