Okay, so I have to wait until MONDAY to get my scores--not fun. Anyone who took this test, tell me ANYTHING you know about the scoring--if it seems to you like the curve was tough, etc.

Please respond I'm like dying.

Bumppppppppp

I basically went through the barron's book the weekend before the test and took both practice tests (not a single practice essay). I'm expecting a 5 so don't panic lol.

I did the exact same thing, george...but I had NO idea on the 1st FRQ, and on the second FRQ, I mentioned the Irish Potato Famine...haha.

Zachsta, stop going nuts.

Although, that one reader did say 40% got a 0 on one of the essays

which thread was that sr6622? I probably was one of them with that first question lol.

Zachsta, my buddy who also self studied this exam got a 5 but he thought he did really well so im not surprised.

Got the message from my teacher

Was your teacher a grader? I dont know if that is good news or bad news for me because I knew I bombed it. I guess a bunch of others did as well...

He wasn't a grader, but has graded the AP Human Geo. and Ap Euro tests in the past. He has talked to some of the graders to see how the nation performed compared to years past.

But hey, he told me that one reader said that for one essay question 40% of the people had a 0. Don't get me wrong, I am flat out scared about what I got. (I'm assuming it was the first essay question, but who knows?)

Well considering I felt I aced the rest of the test that means I may have gotten a 3... one can hope?

I bet you will get a 4 or 5

I certainly hope so...

yeah blowing one free response question doesn't usually kill your grade

crashingwaves or sr....if you COMPLETELY bomb an FRQ, and have some other errors, is a 5 out of the picture? Or does the fact that 40% got 0's mean that the curve is generous?

40% got a 0 on one of the essay questions? that seems awfully ludicrous to me, considering (A) the essay questions were fairly straight forward (no curve ball questions like the chicken question from last years), and (B) the way that the test is graded.

see, the essays on human geo are graded not as essays but more like math or physics problems: if they see a fact or anything that supports the answer, they award points for it. the more facts, the better. so really, someone could just write down a few facts and get a 1.

a 0 requires more or less that you talk about something completely unrelated....like washing machines, when they're asking about devolution and supranationalism.

my apologies to anyone who thought that washing machines were a significant part of supranationalistic identities...

I wrote about the right stuff except i mixed up the terms lol.... Thats why I bombed it.

Yeah I got a 5 on this. What a joke.

hahahaha I got a 5 too rofl

I <3 Barrons
