Any Idea About the Academic Index?

Is the academic index legit? I ask because I'm really worried about one bad subject score (600 in lit). But after calculating, My AI was 7 out of 9 which imo is not too bad. Can experienced members please share their thoughts on this topic?

Academic Index is legit; it used to be used for athletic recruits, but I’m fairly sure that they’re used across the board now. (Don’t quote me on it.)

I’m not sure how much they mean though because it doesn’t include other important factors such as legacy, essays, ECs, and awards amongst other things. I think that generally any score above 210 is fine. But, I don’t really know, but I know that the maximum is 240.

So a 219 isn’t bad enough to get me rejected based on academics, right?

Hmmmm… I thought that the Academic Index was somewhat outdated.

Anyways, they aren’t going to reject you solely on the fact that your AI is 219. Hell, they probably wouldn’t reject you just because it’s 190. Remember that your application is viewed holistically. Many 2400s are rejected while some 1900s are accepted. I suggest you stop worrying about the numbers; doing so isn’t going to change anything about your decision. All it does is add unneeded stress.

tldr; Chill out, man. You’re fine. Eat some ice cream.

I actually think academic indexes are more used than ever, considering the massive swell in new applications. But what do I know? I do agree that the index doesn’t mean too much. If your index dips below say 190 or 170, then you’re probably at a disadvantage. But I don’t see anything above 210 makes a difference. I mean are they really gonna differentiate between a 219 and a 238.5 or a 210 and a 240? Probably not.
