[li] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: accepted of waitlist to davis and initially SIR’ed to cal poly.[/li]
General Comments: umm. i dont know.
Too many qualified applicants and not enough spots. UCD and SLO are excellent schools and personally better options. Good luck.
@Gumbymom yeah, i agree, but how come I got denied by uc irvine but not davis if davis is better? Don’t all the UC’s look at similar criteria?
Each school will look at the same set of criteria but each school can decide what they feel is important on the actual application. Who knows? There is no good answer in why you are accepted/waitlisted/rejected at one campus vs another. Just be happy at SLO and do your best to make the most of your opportunities.
Your in state = more competitive
Davis has more room and they provide great support for tutoring.
Why didn’t Irvine accept you?
-ORM
-3.76 GPA
-EE with “so-so” AP Calc scores. If you are going into engineering, your math scores have to be high.
-low SAT
-No teacher recommendations?
-No sports which might make sense for lower scores.
You will absolutely love, love, DAVIS. It is really under-rated. Be happy you were accepted there.
Sorry, @iamjack: Misunderstood that you will be attending UCD. Agree with @aunt bea, UCD is a great school and you should be thrilled that you were accepted. Go Aggies!!!
@Gumbymom yeah, thanks for throat. I am indeed happy and I liked the campus environment at Davis when I toured it, but I was just curious as to how each college made their decision.
@“aunt bea” thanks for your advice as well. I actually didn’t send my ap score and I took the calc ab exam while I was taking pre calc honors because my friends told me they were the same. Obviously they were wrong as I tried cramming all of calc ab into one weekend. I did take calc a, b, and c at a local cc as a dual enrollment student where i did well.
