Rejected. I have to say that this stings more than I thought it would, because I got accepted as a freshman last year (and declined to attend).

o yea, that definitely sucks- i'll like to know what their point is-
perhaps u can appeal ur rejection? doesn't hurt to try...

I was accepted. I suppose that's nice. Congratulations and sympathy, wherever they are due.

Rejected...........booo!!!!
Theres always graduate school!

nutella, are you going?

I was accepted too. I was also able to log into axess and I guess Standford is giving me 43K in what they call scholarships. I love you Stanford. I really do.

are you going martini?

I might. Idk at this point. I'm still waiting on Haaaaavaaaahd. I'll also give Yale's good 'ol waiting list a run since it's just 3 people (2 since p44 got into H). I am going to go with the biggest grant.

martini, are u guys really serious that yale wailisted only three applicants? that seems incredible! sorry to ask ever so often but do u or anyone else on this thread know what the numbers are for waitlisted transfer applicants to Harvard?

They told me 3. I spoke to Marianne Arrigone. Their freshman waiting list consists of 500 students but the transfer one has only 3!! I went nuts when I heard.

Idk about Harvard. Sorry. They totally skipped me today... Or maybe I didn't check the e-mail box on the application :( I thought that it the waiting list has about 100 students, but that wouldn't make much sense. Your best best is to just talk to them. I know I will on monday :)
Good luck!

well congrats- I think u'll get in given that its now down to 2- hopefully harvard waitlisted few applicants too- certainly not three tho~!

martini...did you apply to MIT? Have you heard from them?

martini

to be quite honest i think your debate has to be between yale and stanford. i'm pretty sure if i stayed on the WL, i'd get a good look at harvard but i really don't think the experience (at least at this point in my academic career) is worth it. harvard for ugad is a necessarily painful rites of passage that people go through if only for the degree.

yale, on the other hand, is quite wonderful.

10 days...

catcherny1, do you mind posting your statistics and what college type you came from? I'm really interested in transferring and I want to see what kind of statistics the top schools are looking for?

Earlier in this thread people are talking about already finding out acceptances and whatnot...are these freshman applicants?

Also, I have my PIN and everything, submitted Form 1 online, how do i check my transfer application decision! Thank you!

it's on another thread

in general, i attended an ivy league school, had good stats, good recs, good essays.

LoL RejectedFromMIT fished this thread out from some very old archive. This is a thread from last years (2006) transfer admission season. Notice that the last post before todays activity was on May 2006! Interesting to note the time line of the notification process though...
