I am a junior and I'm trying to make up a list of colleges to visit this year in case I decide to apply early decision to any of them. I want to major in some liberal arts field. What schools are known for their english, political science, psychology programs?

I want to remain in the North East and I want a relatively small school <6000. I like the kind of preppy atmosphere of CT so I want something similar to that, but not completely elitist, a college where everyone is friendly but really bright and involved. Hmmm oxymoron maybe but what can I say.

ED should be used for reaches, as you know. So let me throw out the first reach. Dartmouth. About 4,000 undergrads, academis as good as you can find anywhere, ditto on the bright and involved students, and its rep is that of a somewhat preppy school.

you have so many options- new england is full of elite, small, friendly, liberal arts schools.
just off the top of my head- sorta preppy but not too popped collar (hows that?), with good psych and humanities:
conn college, vassar
